STOTS’ First ‘Satsangh’ of the Academic Year 2018-19

STOTS’ First ‘Satsangh’ of the Academic Year 2018-19

Inauguration of ‘Satsangh’ of  the academic year 2018 – 19 was done at St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary(STOTS), Nagpur  by Mrs. Pushpa Waghmare, founder of a Nagpur based mission society “Ashirwad Kanthi”. Founded in 1992, Ashirvad Kanti is an organization centered around children of the slums in Nagpur city – their welfare, empowerment and development. Rev. Fr.Dr.Bijesh Philip in his presidential address stressed upon the need of ‘Sat-Sanghs’ to counter the darkness spread by the lynching  sanghs and violent mobocracy in India today.  Satsangh  is not only a mere platform to discuss theology and mission but also as a rostrum to interact with people who have done great things through their life in the field of mission. Mrs. Pushpa Waghmare in her presentation elucidated on the reasons behind starting of ‘Ashirwad Kanthi’ and how it proves to be a true ‘light of blessing’ in many lives. Such interactions are a great encouragement to the seminarians for the development of their vision of mission.   Dn. Shinu K Thomas is the Satsangh secretary for the present semester.
