The primary purpose of St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary is the formation and training of youngsters in the spiritual, academic, moral and practical levels for a meaningful ministry in India.
To achieve this goal, a wider perspective is foreseen; however, this may not be at the expense of the ethos of orthodox spirituality.
What differentiates the Seminary training from that of a regular college is the participation of the community life and activities.
As per the tradition of the Church and the regulations of the Senate of Serampore, the Seminary education needs residential training. So it is very important to have satisfactory attendance not only in the class room but also in the Chapel and places of other activities.
Those who have chronic health problems may have to discontinue the Seminary training because of their continuous inability in participating in community activities and squad works.
