‘SATHYAJYOTHI’ ONLINE STUDIES “The True Light’

Sathyajyothi, the first and only Online Theological Program of the Church run under the aegis of St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary (STOTS), Nagpur, was started in the year 2014.It has since then shown true light to many of its seekers.

The utmost inevitability to cater to the spiritual needs of the Outside Kerala born and brought up generations of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, begat the St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Nagpur. It has thrived hard all these years to prove itself useful among them, the ‘Diaspora of the Church’. Apart from moulding future ordained leaders for the church in Diaspora, it also has an active role in framing the Orthodox identity of the laity, and ‘Sathyajyothi’ is a milestone in that direction.

Anyone can access the study materials from any corner of the world.These study materials are divided into eight units that include: a study on theHoly Scriptures, Orthodox Theology, Spirituality, Patristics, Worship and Sacraments, Church History, Missiology and a study on other Orthodox Churches. The course is aptly categorized into these units in succession which takes the student througha journey of understanding the orthodox faith and practices. It is able to clear almost all common doubts within the convenient time frame. The course will be beneficial for all who want to learn, understand and practice Orthodoxy.

Presently there are about 105 students enrolled in the online course. The study material compiled using scholarly works of eminent personalities of the church, is rich in content and is of great quality. The online course has proved to be beneficial for all irrespective of their work, place etc which is its greatest plus point. Procuring this course will definitely improve your understanding about orthodoxy and will make us a better Orthodox Christian. There is a nominal annual fee of Rs. 5000/- for the laity of the church, a fee of Rs 4000/- for Sunday School teachers and Rs.2500/- for students. After registering and paying the fees, you can download the study materials from the website, which means that your laptop becomes the classroom. At the end of each unit you will have to appear for an online exam and submit an assignment.
