70th Conference of INAMS held at Andamans St. Mary’s School, Bathu Basti; Port Blair was hosted by Mission center and St. Mary’s Cathedral from  14-19 of October 2018. Metropolitans H.G. Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, H.G. Dr. Yuhanon Mar Diascoros, H.G. Yuhanon Mar Thevododros, H.G. Joshua Mar Nocodimos, H.G. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Yulios participated in it.

Renounce and Rejoice in Gospel (1Peter 4:13) was the theme discussed by various Scholars with the delegates. Theme was forwarded in different dimensions mainly by Rev. Fr. Dr. Bijesh Philip, Prof. K.C.Mani, Rev. Fr. K.V. Paul, and Dr. Sajee Nisan Yousaf.

Comparing with the early Church and its Fathers we can notice a drastic change in the attitude of generations. Early Christians were  eager to participate in  the sufferings of Jesus and waiting for an eternal heavenly  joy whereas we are rejoicing in the worldly fantasies and consequently become incapable of renouncing meaningfully.   Jesus has shown us the path of cross as the true way to success and joy.  Jesus had to suffer because of His absolute surrender to the will of His heavenly father.  We will have to suffer a lot if we submit completely to Jesus Christ.  But it leads to ultimate victory and happiness.  Suffering is integral part of our Christian discipleship .  Jesus’ resurrection is the excellent  proof of the ultimate victory of the way of cross.  Christians are  the followers of Christ  who are called to progress towards perfection and witness Christ till the end by renouncing their  selfish interests. Renounce and rejoice in Gospel.

Many distinguished personalities from around the world participated and led the programs. There were about 300 delegates.
